I tried playing WOW but it felt... weird. Like, I'm trying to complete some quest, and here are fifty-three other people also trying to complete the same quest. It was like a bunch of people playing a single-player RPG but within the context of an MMORPG.

Occasionally I wander into Vendetta Online. It's like an MMORPG version of Elite, or Space Rogue, or something. Twitch-based spaceflight combat simulation with RPG aspects and a decent-sized community of people pew-pewing each other. And it runs on damn near everything.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does 'MMO' stand for? Thanks!

Yeah, it does feel a bit weird these days. When I first started playing
it someone invited me to a group and we went adventuring, I had never
played an MMO or anything like it so I was quiet taken by the vastness of
the world. That was back when The Burning Crusade had just been released.
Now days no one groups with anyone unless it's for a dungeon or a quest
and they could be from any server and you group with them for the
duration and never see them again.

Occasionally I wander into Vendetta Online. It's like an MMORPG

Yep I played Vendetta Online quiet a bit years ago. I actually resubbed
this month (for a month) but haven't really got into it. Have you played
    EVE online?

Sorry, LOL, I saw that when I uploaded the packet. I have it configured

I looked at EVE, but never played it. I was a little discouraged by the level-based abilities, if that makes any sense. Like, in Vendetta, if you're a good pilot with the worst ship, you can still beat the worst pilot with the best ship. EVE seemed mostly like... if opponent is a higher level than you, he/she is going to win by default.

Yep PVP in eve is like a group of thugs beating up a little old lady. It
does kind of make you sit on the edge of your seat a bit and plan your
routes though. I enjoyed the non-pvp side of things building things and
so on, and you could *usually* do that in Hi-Sec Space without too much trouble.

Was a big Final Fantasy 11 player (2003-2016), then got into 14 in December 2016 to present.
